Build

Build team conceptualizes, constructs, repairs, and maintains the Krewe de Lune's large themed structures for the parades as well as Space Ball such as the truck float, bike floats, and push float, etc.

Revel

Revelers create a spectacle for Mardi Gras that goes beyond basic dress up. Revelers embody the yearly theme of Krewe de Lune, telling the story of that theme through theatrical costuming, puppetry, and kinetic sculpture.

Space Ball

Team Space Ball conceptualizes and creates large-scale, interactive installations so Space Ball can be transformed into KDL's alien play place. We strive to to be over the TOP.

Satellites

The Satellites Committee provides protection, support, and music to the Cosmonaughties and Revelers during Parades. Satellites help with logistics before parades, work as friendly security during events and make sure the paraders have everything they need.

Philanthropy

Each year, all members are required to earn one philanthropy credit by either participating in one of KDL's philanthropy events or by donating at least $60 to a local non-profit. In addition, KDL hosts Lunar Lagniappe, an annual benefit that partners with a charity aligned with our core values. The Philanthropy Committee plays a key role in organizing and shaping these impactful events.

Star Steppin’ Cosmonaughties

The Star-Steppin' Cosmonaughties are the official dance team of Krewe de Lune. A co-ed collaboration of space sass, we are united by a cosmically deep appreciation of space, dance, and the fine city of New Orleans. Our motto is "Celestial bodies in motion," and our motif is all things outer space. Our style is sassy and super galactic, incorporating high energy moves and cohesive choreography, inspired by a range of artists.

*The Cosmonaughties are currently full for the 2025/2026 season. Membership to the Cosmonaughties 2026/2027 season will open next spring/summer to current KDL members.
